Background of the Study
Remote work has become a central aspect of modern workforce management, accelerated by technological advancements and, more recently, the global pandemic. In Nigeria, companies like MTN Nigeria have increasingly adopted remote work policies as part of their business strategies to enhance work-life balance, reduce operational costs, and maintain employee engagement. Plateau State, located in the central part of Nigeria, presents a unique demographic and socio-economic environment for studying the impact of remote work on employee job satisfaction, as employees may face varying challenges related to infrastructure, work conditions, and communication technologies (Adeniran & Usman, 2024).
MTN Nigeria, a leader in telecommunications, has embraced remote work as a means of maintaining business continuity and enhancing flexibility. However, while remote work is often associated with higher job satisfaction due to increased flexibility, it can also present challenges such as feelings of isolation, difficulty in communication, and work-life imbalance. Understanding the specific effects of remote work on job satisfaction at MTN Nigeria’s Plateau State branch is crucial for optimizing remote work policies and improving employee engagement (Obinna & Bello, 2024).
This study will explore the impact of remote work on employee job satisfaction at MTN Nigeria, Plateau State, by assessing employees' experiences and satisfaction levels under a remote working environment.
